Neurofeedback is a computer-aided brain training method developed in the 1960’s initially used to help control epilepsy. Since then, with the advent of super computers and EEG technology, Neurofeedback has become a lot more advanced and can now help a wide range of neurological, emotional, and behavioral conditions.
At the root of our thoughts, actions, sensations and emotions are electrical impulses called brain waves whose activity can be detected through very sensitive electrodes. This activity is translated by the computer for us to visualize and hear. A program is run that will allow us to stimulate the under performing areas or suppress overactive areas of our brain. We are rewarded with audio and visual cues and over time, similar to exercising on a treadmill, the brain develops ‘muscles’ in the form of more neuronal connections and encourages neuroplasticity, or the ability of the brain to adapt and change.

At our center, we use a non-invasive computer based training program to improve brain function. We use EEG technology which involves placing electrodes at select sites on the head to measure and analyse your brain waves. Each EEG point corresponds to a part in the brain which govern certain brain functions.
Neurofeedback is very efficient as it can directly focus on different parts of the brain with associated functions such as speech, memory, pain, calmness, motor functions, decision making, focus and many more. A session lasts 22 minutes and results may be visible within 10 to 20 sessions-- just as going to the gym regularly will result in a fitter body after several sessions.
With Neurofeedback, high performers can achieve sharper focus, enhanced mood and make better decisions. It can also provide symptom relief for many mind, brain and neurological conditions. Neurofeedback is also a very effective non-pharmaceutical intervention for being anxious and overwhelmed, depressed and even sleepless. It can be used to de-stress, improve sleep and allow people to be their best no matter what the circumstances may be.
